The Azilal rugs are hand knotted by the women of the Azilal region in the Atlas Mountains. The carpet is shaped by the woman’s life experience, family, but the symbols in the woven Azilal carpets are inherited through generations. Just like the Beni Ourain, Beni Mguild or Taznakht carpets, the Azilal carpet is durable. The reason most Azilal wool rugs are creamy white is because the wool is natural and not chemically treated.
About Me
Since I was young, I have been interested in old and unique things, and I have also been fascinated by studying art. I found what interests me in this type of rare carpet. I consider each innate handiwork to be unique and highly valuable, as this type of artwork is passed down through inheritance coming back hundreds of years. The drawings on the carpets express the life of the carpet maker and have a high artistic value I feel happy when I share this passion with those interested in aesthetic values and who want to have a unique piece of art in their home
